Version 1.31 Update Content

Fixed a bug that noise may be recorded in copied files when using a USB memory device.
Fixed a bug that up to 250 files can be recorded per folder, but only 200 files can be displayed in the file list.
Fixed a bug that the operation becomes unstable when exporting to a USB flash drive that has been loaded once.
Fixed a bug that a large number of files are created which are treated as “broken files” on Windows.

Please execute initialization of SETUP memory when upgrading from V1.03 or earlier.

Important Notice Regarding USB Memory Devices

The PD606 has been observed to become unstable depending on the USB flash drive used. USB flash drives with security functions, which are becoming increasingly popular, are designed to be used with PCs, and there is a high possibility that they cannot be used properly with the PD606.

How to upgrade

Please upgrade the version based on the following upgrade workflow.

Update History

Version 1.30

■Additional Functions

USB-HOST supports USB flash drive, and the following functions are added.

(1) Audio playback of BWF files recorded on USB memory devices is supported.
(2) USB flash drive is added to the copy destination of file copy.
(3) Added BGRD USB mode to Auto copy mode, which copies to USB flash drive in the background.
(4) USB memory stick is supported for future version upgrades.

(5) USB flash drive is now compatible with future version upgrades. This expands the maximum number of files per partition to “250 files x number of folders.

Changed operation specifications
The operation of “file copy” was changed so that it copies files differently depending on their file names. Until the previous version, if a file with the same name as the file to be copied already existed in the destination folder, “_” was added to the beginning of the file name and the file was copied. The result is that All select is always selected. As a result, All select is always selected so that only files that have not been copied can be differentially copied. Note that if the same file name already exists in the destination folder and you want to replace it with a new file, you need to delete the file from the destination folder beforehand.
The menu screen can now be accessed while the menu screen is displayed (except for some menus).

Bug Fixes
When formatting a DVD-RAM disc, the address of the disc was read out differently than when writing to the disc.
Fixed a bug that the system hangs up when an ADL file is created and renamed when there is no song file in the partition.
Fixed a bug that GMT Offset setting was not set correctly at power-on.

Specification changes
The maximum size of the upgrade file has been increased from 4Mbyte to 8Mbyte. Since it is expected that the program size will exceed 4 MByte in the future, it is necessary to upgrade to Version 1.30 before upgrading to the next version.

(*Please initialize the SETUP memory when upgrading from Version 1.03 or earlier.

Version 1.20

Fixed a bug that search speed of FF and RWD was not up to 100x.
Fixed a bug that the buffer memory data might be damaged due to abnormal termination or some other reasons when writing, and HDD might suddenly go into the state of “Unformat”.
Fixed a bug that SYSTEM MEMORY is automatically set to the default setting when starting up with SYSTEM MEMORY turned off and the setting is undefined.
Fixed a bug that TC start value sometimes had an abnormal time and TC display sometimes displayed abnormally when defualt TC start was set to 16:00 or more at a frame rate of 23.97 or 29.97.
When an ALE File was generated with a frame rate of 23.97, the Start and End times were calculated at 24 frames.
This has been corrected so that the correct 23.97 frames are calculated.
Cliping detected!” display is now synchronized with the ON/OFF setting of the Error tone > Input clip setting in SYSTEM SETUP, and “Cliping detected!
Fixed a bug that Record, Play, etc. may not be performed after File Copy, Disk Copy, or USB connection.
Moved the display position of <All Select> from the bottom to the top in the File copy screen.

Please initialize SETUP memory when upgrading from V1.03 or earlier.

Version 1.11

Fixed a bug that USB connection with Windows Vista may not be possible.
Fixed a bug in which the internal HDD partition could not be connected with MAC OS X10.5.
Fixed a bug in which it may hang up when copying a file to CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW with a filename of 32 characters or more (extended to 64 characters).
Fixed a bug in which the ES-MASTER indication did not appear when nothing was recorded on the disc when the ES-BUS was set to MASTER.
Fixed a bug that it might hang up when starting RECORD after file name edit.
Fixed a bug that – + ~ was not correct on US keyboard with _=`(`no font) SHIFT series.
Fixed a part of Custum monitor setting in SYS SETUP that could not be operated from USB keyboard.
Fixed a bug that UBIT output always becomes “uuuuuuuuuu” of Default and does not work as other UBIT settings when it is set to “TC GEN OUT” and started.

Please initialize SETUP memory when upgrading from V1.03 or earlier.

Version 1.10

ES-BUS mode is provided to support Link operation of multiple units. The maximum number of PDs that can be linked is two units per PD.
When the Pre Rec function is enabled, pressing the Rec key again during Post Recording (post-recording operation for the memory buffer) provides the Post Recording Cancel function to resume recording with the same file. This operation is also applied to the operation between ES-MASTER<>SLAVE.
Fixed a malfunction in which, when using IDX Power Link compatible batteries in the Power Link state, an error would occur in reading battery information, causing the camera to switch to other batteries even though there was still battery power remaining.
Fixed a bug that Input Monitor may be turned off when Directry is selected.
Fixed a bug that SKIP FILE and SKIP CUE(SHIFT) did not work with USB arrow key.
Sys Initial Memorie” was added to “SYS SETUP” to initialize the setting memory (factory default).
In the TC GEN during Free Run, the TC GEN value is reset when the power is completely disconnected (the PD606 continues to operate correctly even when the power is turned off unless the battery is disconnected). (If the battery is not removed, the TC GEN continues to operate accurately even if the power is turned off.
Note that since data is recorded in the main unit’s memory when the power is turned OFF, the previously recorded value or the initial value will be rewritten if the power is forcibly turned OFF, such as when the power is unplugged before the power is turned OFF at the main unit.
Fixed a bug that may cause the PD606 display to freeze when connected to a PC via USB or when the USB cable is unplugged or plugged in during connection.
When Rec Ready was turned on, Next File Name was displayed in the file name display, but when Rec Ready is on but in STOP status, the currently standing file name is displayed.

Please initialize the SETUP memory after upgrading.

Version 1.03

Peak/RMS level detection mode has been added to the Limter settings. The limiter operation can now be selected by RMS level detection, which is similar to VU, although Peak detection was used previously. However, RMS operation is limited to Fs: 48 kHz, and Peak detection is used for Fs higher than 48 kHz, regardless of the setting. In addition, the Limter setting is divided into two sections, CH-INPUT and ST-OUT, allowing independent parameter settings for each.

Fixed a bug that the Fs value was different from the set value when using digital input.
Fixed a bug in which DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW could be inoperable when used for file copying.
Fixed a bug that the system could not start up properly if the internal HDD was not installed.
Fixed a bug that a bit inversion occurred when the input reached OL with the REV. switch of each channel ON.
Fixed a problem in which a disk could not be ejected if no files existed when a disk was loaded or partition was switched.
Fixed a problem in which a disk could not be EJECTed when an unformatted disk was inserted and automatically advanced to the format menu, if the disk was not formatted and the user exited the menu with EXIT.
Error codes in the Diagnoses file were incorrect.
Disk Copy is now executed with ENTER+REC key instead of ENTER.

Please execute SETUP memory initialization after upgrading.

Version 1.02

DVD discs cannot be ejected except at STOP.
Fixed some misspellings in iXML.
In DDR and AUTO COPY IMME mode, 4 TRKs up to Fs=96kHz and 2 TRKs up to Fs=192kHz are supported.
The maximum number of TRKs recorded on the internal HDD at Fs=96kHz has been extended to 8 TRKs.
