Stereo recording in BWF (Broadcast Wave Format) to TYPE I /II compact flash cards.
BWF is an interleaved single-file format for smooth importing into a DAW.
16/24-bit, 44.1/48/88.4/96kHz and MP3 (192kbps) selectable (selected at formatting. (Selectable at formatting. Coexistence of different Fs/Bit is not possible.)
Built-in RTC (Real Time Clock) and BWF TIME STAMP (Y/M/D/h/m/s) are supported. The name of the recording file can also be used.
AA batteries and RC batteries can be used. 6 to 13 hours of operation is possible when using Tamiya RC3600HV. Also compatible with RC3700HV.

When recognizing CF cards formatted and recorded with FR-2LE and playing back WAV files with FR-2, FR-2 software version 2.22 or later is required.
When a CF card used with FR-2LE is mounted on MacOS9, the data in the CF card may be corrupted.
