●Compact Flash™ card, PC card hard disk, etc. can be used as recording media.
No CF card™ or other recording media is included with the FR-2.
The media format is FAT32 and the file format is BWF, allowing file transfers not only via a CompactFlash™ card adapter* but also by mounting to a PC via the standard USB port. Easy importing of audio files to various DAWs and other applications.
Supported OS: Windows Me/2000/XP, Mac OS X 10.2 or higher
The recording track format is selectable between STEREO and MONO, and 44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz for 24-bit recording. 22.05/44.1/48 kHz is selectable for 16-bit recording.
*Sampling frequency supported differs depending on the recording media.
When using a 1GB CompactFlash™ card, approximately 57 minutes of recording is possible at 24bit/48kHz/ST, and approximately 14 minutes at 24bit/192kHz/ST.
Pre-record function to prevent recording leakage at the start of recording.
Compact body with full input/output and dual power supply system
Analog inputs and outputs include XLR/balanced inputs (phantom P48V compatible) and RCA pin/unbalanced outputs.
High-quality AD/DA converters (AD: AK5385A, DA: AK4384/AKM) are used.
Equipped with independent low-cut filters for L/R channels (cutoff frequency 100Hz, -12dB/oct).
VCA limiter (threshold level = 24-bit full-scale level -2dB, ratio = 1:5, attack time = approx. 20ms, release time = approx. 150ms).
In addition to the headphone output, a built-in speaker (1W) is provided.
Digital input/output* (XLR type, AES/EBU or S/P DIF).
Input/output for sampling frequencies of 176.4 and 192 kHz are not supported.
●Up to 99 CUE points can be registered.
File name/CUE name editing is possible by connecting a USB keyboard.
The display uses a backlit 132 x 64 dot matrix LCD to show a variety of information.
Error tone function (sounding conditions: input over, low battery, low recording media).
Power can be supplied by AA batteries (nickel metal hydride/nickel cadmium/alkali) or the dedicated AC adapter AD12-1300 (optional). Approximately 2.5 hours of operation* is possible with 8 x NiMH AA batteries (2300mAh).
In addition, Tamiya Corporation’s RC battery can be used with the 8570 Tamiya Battery Cable, enabling approximately 4 hours of operation when the RC-3600HV is used.
