This is a high-quality sound player software for our USB DACs that supports high-resolution sound sources. By using this software in combination with our USB DAC “HP-A8”, “HP-A4BL” or “HP-A4”, you can easily enjoy high-resolution sound sources such as WAV, FLAC and DSD with high sound quality.

DSD native playback without conversion to PCM is possible on Windows, and ASIO2.1 or DoP (DSD Audio over PCM Frames) format is supported. 2.8MHz/5.6MHz/11.2MHz DSD files can be played back.

To playback DSD 11.2MHz files on Windows, it is necessary to select “DSD Native” for Decode Mode in the Device column of the Configure pull-down menu.

DSD 11.2MHz playback on Windows requires “DSD Native” in the Decode Mode selection in the Device field of the Configure pull-down menu.

When used on a Mac, DSD up to 5.6MHz is supported.

In addition to DSD, WAV and FLAC files up to 192 kHz can be played back, and MP3 files up to 320 kbps can be played back.

Expand to RAM (RAM buffer playback) function for higher quality sound playback.

Playlists can be easily created, saved, and loaded.

Repeat and shuffle playback functions are available.

Please use the latest HP-A8 software / Windows driver for use with HP-A8.

If the file does not play (error message), please check if the “FOSTEX Audio Player” application and the “PLUG IN” folder are in the same hierarchy (folder). We have received an increasing number of reports of problems where the “FOSTEX Audio Player” application itself has been moved from the folder and separated from the “PLUG IN” folder, causing the files not to play. Please create a shortcut (alias) for the “FOSTEX Audio Player” application and use it instead of moving the main body of the application.

DSD playback is supported up to 2.8MHz when used with the HP-A8.
