Features

24bit/96kHz" uncompressed, 56 tracks total

● Six recording formats (24bit/44.1kHz, 24bit/48kHz, 24bit/88.2kHz, 24bit/96kHz, 16bit/44.1kHz, 16bit/48kHz) can be selected according to purpose.

The industry’s top-class 24-bit AD/DA converters are employed: AK5393 for AD and AK4393 for DA, eliminating to the utmost limit any loss or change of original sound information due to AD/DA conversion.

8 real + 48 additional tracks.

In addition to simultaneous analog 8-track recording/playback, simultaneous 8-track recording/playback by adatOPTICAL is also supported.

adatOPTICAL can be switched between S/P DIF and S/P DIF.

A 3.5-inch E-IDE type hard disk can be freely interchanged (using 9043HD Caddy). When using the 40GB HD, the recording time is approximately 7,550 minutes in 16bit/44.1kHz format and 2,310 minutes in 24bit/96kHz format (mono-track equivalent time).

The Disk Optimize function deletes unneeded files to free up disk space.

● Backup to ADAT (only for 44.1/48 kHz recording format) or DAT is also possible.

The SCSI terminal on the main unit is currently intended for service purposes such as software upgrades, etc., and does not support data backup.

High-dimensional nondestructive editing functions and
UNDO with time jump function

● Editing functions such as non-destructive copy/paste/move/paste and erase with up to 99 repeat counts can be specified. It is also possible to perform copy/paste between different programs.

Undo with time jump function allows unlimited return to the previous editing state as long as there is free space on the disk. (The number of times UNDO can be performed depends on the remaining disk space and editing status.)

The track exchange function allows you to replace any track, and a track name setting function is also provided.

Audio scrubbing and preview functions with graphical envelope display allow intuitive fine-tuning of editing points. The jog dial can be used for normal digital scrubbing, and the shuttle dial can be used for audio cueing.

A program select function with up to 99 songs allows free song name settings. A program duplicate function allows easy duplication of programs.

Program Chain Play function allows continuous playback of programs in any order (any section can be specified, and AUTO PLAY/PAUSE mode can also be specified).

Pitch can be adjusted in 0.1% increments for a ±6% varipitch function.

6 edit/99 locate memories are provided. Direct locate to 01-99 locate memories automatically sorted by time using PREV/NEXT keys.

A mark stop function automatically stops the train at the locate point.

Various auto functions such as auto punch-in/out with rehearsal function and auto return/play are provided.

BAR/BEAT resolution function for easy beat-by-beat audio editing.

Three types of time base display: ABS (24-hour time base), MTC (24-hour time base), and Bar/Beat, as well as a remained hard disk capacity display and a remained hard disk capacity display in each time base are available.

Detachable controller (using 2 x 8551B extension cables (5m), sold separately) allows remote control from a distance of up to 10m from the main unit.

AUTO EE mode automatically switches to ALL INPUT monitor when the unit is stopped.

Remote punch-in/out by footswitch and PLAY/STOP are available.

Full MTC synchronization and phase modulation capability

The MTC/MMC support is complemented by advanced recorder control via FEX (Fostex System Exclusive), as well as MIDI clock and S.P.P. output via a built-in tempo map. MTC on-screen slave is also available, allowing you to build a complete MIDI environment.

The MTC Offset function allows you to set the MTC time to the ABS 0h position (or the first bar of Bar/Beat). This function is useful for various synchronization settings with various MIDI sequence software and for chasing and synchronizing with external devices (the set MTC offset value is also reflected in the LTC value when the 8345 is installed). The 8345 is also equipped with an external time code display function.

The built-in tempo map can be programmed to select from 11 different time signatures and from 30 to 250 quarter notes. A metronome function is also provided.

WORD I/O is included as standard. Perfect clock alignment when building a full-digital system.

D-Sub 9-pin remote terminal for RS-422 communication control (optional 8345 TC/SYNC card (sold separately) is required when building a system with various editors compliant with the P2 protocol).

8345 Additional functions with TC/SYNC card installed

The P2000 can be modulated to VIDEO/WORD signals from an external source, enabling the creation of systems with various editors compliant with the P2 protocol by modulating to VIDEO. The sync preset function can be used to recall eight typical patterns of synchronization-related settings.

Slave operation to an external LTC is possible. The CHASE offset function enables slave operation to an external LTC or MTC while maintaining the time difference. In addition, slave operation is possible in the section where both external LTC and internal time code address straddle 0h (ABS 0h cannot be straddled).

The virtual timecode track function enables recording of internal timecode generator and external timecode without reducing the number of audio tracks.

LTC output of ABS-converted timecode or timecode recorded on the virtual timecode track is possible.

In addition to generating time from the internal clock (RTC) or from a specified time (FREE RUN), a built-in timecode generator allows FORCE JAM with external timecode. Generate output from timecode out is possible without running the unit. It is also possible to record continuous virtual timecode during recording (REC RUN).

Six types of timecode frame rates (24, 25, 30ND, 30DF, 29.97ND, 29.97DF) are supported.

Additional features with 8350 AES/EBU card installed

●AES/EBU format digital input/output (8ch IN/8ch OUT) can be added, useful for digital input/output at 24bit/88.2kHz and 24bit/96kHz recording formats.

The standard adatOPTICAL is 16/24bit, 44.1/48kHz and does not support 96kHz.
