Features
The 12cm DVD-RAM disc is used as the recording medium, allowing direct recording and playback.
The disc format is UDF1.5 and the file format is BWF (interleaved format), which enables efficient transfer of audio files recorded on DVD-RAM discs to various DAWs.
The system automatically closes the file in the background every minute during recording. This prevents the loss of files and minimizes losses in the event of a power failure or other unforeseen problems.
High reliability is ensured by the Verify/Write writing method that constantly verifies data during recording.
8, 6, 5, 4, 2, and 1 tracks can be selected for recording. 24-bit sampling frequency of 44.1kHz/48kHz (max. 8tr) and 88.2kHz/96kHz (max. 4tr) are supported. 22.05kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz are selectable at 16-bit.
Pre-record function to prevent recording omissions at the start of recording.
FS can be set to 0.1% pull-up/pull-down.
Avid™ compatible EDL files (ALE) can be created and edited.
Playback of discs recorded with the PD-6 and DV40 is possible.
The optional 9058 (built-in HD unit) enables direct recording to HD and simultaneous (mirrored) recording to HD and DVD-RAM, and disc and file copying to DVD-RAM, DVD-R/RW, and CD-R/RW with the main unit’s DVD drive.
The software version 2 automatically supports continuous recording across partitions, enabling long-time recording. Long-time recording is also possible.
Digital input/output (D-sub 25-pin, AES/EBU or S/P DIF) is provided as standard. Simultaneous use with analog input/output is possible.
WORD input/output (BNC) is standard.
Supports simultaneous playback and recording of multiple units via ES-BUS (RS-422 port). The DV824 set as the master can control PLAY, RECORD, STOP, etc. of multiple DV824s.
Optional TC/SYNC card (8348) is required for TC chase (synchronized driving).
The standard EtherNet port enables operation as an FTP server, and audio files can be transferred using a general-purpose FTP client application on a PC.
The optional 8370 IEEE1394/USB card allows the DV824’s DVD-RAM disc to be mounted on a PC for audio file transfer.
USB and EtherNet communication is possible.
USB terminal for keyboard connection is provided for keyboard input of file names, etc.
Headphone output can be switched between SOLO, STEREO, and MONO.
