The FE108SS-HP is a limited edition full-range speaker unit newly developed using our development philosophy and proprietary technologies based on the fundamentals of acoustics. The HP-shaped diaphragm with a powerful low-distortion external magnetic circuit consisting of two large ferrite layers and a proprietary mixed layer of cellulose nano-fibers provides a rich low frequency range, low coloration, and straightforward mid-to-high frequency sound quality, resulting in powerful yet delicate and expressive music reproduction.
Features
Cellulose nanofiber coated HP diaphragm
Our proprietary cellulose nanofiber coating technology forms a coating layer consisting of cellulose nanofibers and mica on the surface of the base layer to improve Young’s modulus, specific bending rigidity, and sound velocity while suppressing the reduction of internal loss. The HP (Hyperbolic Paraboloid) shaped diaphragm with this treatment is lightweight, yet rigid and has a high degree of resonance dispersion. The full-range bass range is fast and sharp, the mid-low range is full, the midrange is bright and taut and straightforward, the mid-high range is natural-sounding, and the high range is fully extended, making music enjoyable to listen to.
Large ferrite magnetic circuit
Two large ferrite magnets are used in the magnetic circuit to ensure sufficient magnetic flux density. Copper caps are added to the pole section to reduce current distortion, resulting in powerful music reproduction and improved sound quality in the mid and high frequencies.
Highly rigid aluminum die-cast frame
A highly rigid aluminum die-cast frame is used to support the large ferrite magnetic circuit and eliminate unwanted resonance.
● UDRT damper/edge with excellent amplitude response
The UDRT (Up-Down Roll Tangential) shape is used for the damper and edge. This shape is composed of various surfaces, which improves the rigidity of the overall shape, moving resonance to higher frequencies and dispersing it, thereby suppressing the generation of specific large peaks and achieving smooth characteristics.
Dovetail-less structure
A direct lead is used to draw out the tinsel wire from the voice coil without the use of dovetails on the diaphragm, thereby reducing the mass of the vibration system and equalizing the vibration of the diaphragm. In addition, the direct lead is pulled out in the rotational direction from the 180-degree position in consideration of symmetry of the mass distribution.
Faston 205 gold-plated terminals
Faston 205 type low-loss gold-plated terminals are used for input terminals. This ensures secure connection of speaker cables and prevents deterioration of sound quality.
