Features
8-track recording to Compact Flash™.
Record to palm-sized CompactFlash™ cards with the same sound quality as commercially available CDs (16bit/44.1 kHz: Normal Mode). LP Mode (22.05 kHz) is also available for long-time recording.
Recording time is approximately 24 minutes in Normal Mode and 48 minutes in LP Mode (both mono-track equivalent, when using the included 128 MB CF).
Two analog inputs support line to microphone (phantom 48V compatible). The two analog inputs can be used for stereo output from a drum machine, etc., or two condenser microphones can also be used. One of the inputs also supports a Hi-Z input for direct connection of an electric guitar or other instrument.
Compact Flash™ is a small memory card that is commonly used in digital cameras and can write/erase digital data and is easy to carry around.
Easy operation like a cassette MTR
Digital sound quality with analog ease of use. The EFFECT SEND controls the amount of reverb/delay, and the PAN controls the localization of the left and right sounds, simply by turning a knob*.
The built-in digital effects include reverb/delay, guitar amp/microphone simulation, and mastering effects, which can be selected with a single touch of a button. You can enjoy creating the atmosphere of a song quickly and super-easily.
Reverbs and delays (ROOM/HALL/PLATE/DELAY) are provided on tracks 1 to 4. The reverb time and delay time can be easily adjusted.
When a microphone is connected, you can use your favorite microphone simulation from three types: DYNAMIC, CONDENSER, and TUBE.
When connecting a guitar, you can select your favorite amp simulation from three types: BRIT STACK/US METAL/60’sCOMBO. A simple analog distortion is also available, which allows you to easily adjust the distortion level with a single knob.
Mastering effects include POWERFUL, NATURAL, and BRIGHT. These effects can be used to create atmosphere during mixdown and bounce.
Sound editing unique to digital
Sound editing functions such as copy and paste, which are unique to digital music, allow you to paste a phrase from one position in a song to another, or copy/paste an entire track to another track.
The bounce function enables multiple recording beyond 8 tracks, allowing recording even when there are not enough tracks.
The RHYTHM GUIDE function is convenient for recording.
A MIDI OUT jack is provided for synchronization with a drum machine or sequencer.
Multiple recording anytime, anywhere
The built-in microphone allows for instant recording.
Dual headphone jacks allow two people to create a song together.
The dual power supply system allows recording outdoors where there is no AC power. With 6 AA alkaline batteries, multiple recording is possible anywhere in the world at any time (AC adapter included as standard equipment).
(AC adapter included as standard equipment.) *The alkaline batteries can operate for approximately 2.5 hours (with phantom and backlight on) to 4 hours (with backlight on).
Easy CD creation by connecting to PC
Original CD production is also easy by connecting to a computer with a USB cable. Converting the 2Mixes finished on track 7/8 to a stereo WAV file makes it easy to load them into a CD production application. Of course, it is also possible to read the file via a Compact Flash reader/writer.
USB-HOST terminal allows connection of external drives
By connecting compatible devices, CD-DA (AUDIO CD) creation is possible without a PC.
USB-HOST is based on USB1.1 communication speed. 60 minutes of CD-DA takes about 30 minutes to write a track.
The writing method is track-at-once. Gapless CDs cannot be created.
Please note that USB-HOST does not support WAV export or data save/load.
