Volume controller with built-in DAC and power amplifier.
Compatible with a variety of small passive speakers.

Features

By using a volume controller with built-in DAC and a power amplifier, it is possible to play small passive speakers that do not have built-in amplifiers. This allows you to easily connect a variety of small speakers such as “Kansupi” to your PC and enjoy them.

In addition, a headphone output is also provided. The DAC, speaker output, headphone output, and volume controller are integrated into a compact body, making it an item that you will always want to keep near your PC and operate at your fingertips.

When both passive speakers and headphones are connected, audio is output from headphones only.

● Operates with Windows and MacOS standard USB audio drivers (supported OS: Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS X V10.6 to macOS10.12Sierra).

Depending on the OS and playback software used, it may be necessary to select (switch) the device as a playback device in the settings.

*Cannot be used with playback software that uses a dedicated driver other than the OS standard USB Audio driver.

The volume control is moderately heavy and comfortable to operate, and features a large machined aluminum knob. A heavy black body is used for the chassis.

A USB cable (1 m) and speaker cable (1.5 m) are included. The USB cable (1m) and speaker cable (1.5m) are included.

If no signal is input for approximately 12 minutes, the auto-standby function is activated to reduce power consumption to 0.5W or less, and returns to normal operation when signal is input again.

The auto standby function may not operate properly depending on the noise level of the device connected to the input terminals of this unit.

FAQ

Q
What happens if I connect a speaker outside the compatible speaker impedance range?
A

Please do not do this as it may cause PC200USB to malfunction.

In particular, do not connect a speaker unit with an impedance value lower than the compatible speaker impedance value (8 ohms or lower), as it may generate heat or catch fire in the worst case scenario.

If a speaker unit with a compatible speaker impedance value or higher (16 ohms or higher) is connected, the volume may be low or the sound quality may be degraded.

Please use a speaker unit with a compatible impedance.

Q
Can I connect a selector to the end of the speaker output terminals to switch between multiple speakers?
A
Do not connect anything other than passive speakers of appropriate impedance to the speaker output terminals!
Connecting speaker switching switches, etc. may cause malfunction.

The black (-) side of the speaker output terminals is not a common left/right circuit.
The black (-) side of the speaker output terminal does not share the same chassis ground.

Connecting the speaker terminals to a selector that switches only the red (+) side, or to a device that shares the same chassis ground with the black (-) side, may cause a malfunction.

When switching connections, please replace the cables.

Also, please do not connect (wire) one speaker to multiple amplifiers.
