The traditional flat diaphragm "RP" driver, recognized in music studios around the world, has been significantly renewed; the T50RP has evolved into the "mk4".

This product is a headphone equipped with a significantly renewed RP driver with a full-field-driven planar diaphragm, which was originally developed by Fostex. RP drivers have been used in a variety of models and have been recognized by musicians and engineers in music studios around the world as monitor headphones. The 4th generation RP headphones are the next generation of RP headphones with the evolution of the traditional RP driver and a new housing design that further refines the sound of the planar diaphragm.

RP and RP Technology are Fostex’s proprietary technologies that move the entire surface of the planar diaphragm in regular phase (Regular Phase).

Features

RP drivers evolved to the 4th generation

In the fourth generation of RP Technology’s fully-driven planar diaphragm driver, which has been improved over the past 50 years, the magnets that sandwich the diaphragm have been increased and the pattern shape of the printed coil has been newly designed in order to expand and equalize the vibration area of the planar diaphragm. Furthermore, the components of the magnetic circuit have been redesigned to optimize the magnetic flux distribution, thereby suppressing unwanted resonance of the diaphragm and achieving a sharp response in the rise and fall of the sound. The fourth-generation driver, developed by fully introducing various technologies cultivated to date, simultaneously achieves improved sensitivity, smooth frequency response for easy monitoring, and excellent transient characteristics. By enabling accurate and subtle reproduction from low to high frequencies, the new driver has further improved the ability to reproduce an accurate sense of localization and sound field.

Symmetrical housing with left or right cable connection & reduced left/right sound quality difference

Connectors are provided on both the left and right housings so that cables can be connected to either the left or right side depending on the usage environment. By making the left and right housings the same shape, we have reduced the difference in sound quality caused by the difference in internal structure and volume between the left and right side due to the presence of the connector. The connectors are equipped with 4-pole 3.5 mm connectors to support balanced connections for ease of use and versatility. The cable uses high sound quality OFC conductors.

Optional balanced cables are available in Φ2.5: ET-RP2.5BL, Φ4.4: ET-RP4.4BL, and XLR: ET-RPXLR.

Comfortable wearing ear pads

The earpads are low-resilience, around-the-ear earbuds that are designed to provide a comfortable fit for extended listening.
