We have developed our own technology from the diaphragm itself, which is the source of sound,
and have combined it into a driver unit with excellent acoustic performance, and combined it with a housing carefully selected from a variety of high-quality woods.
Three open-back models of the TH series were completed with careful acoustic adjustment backed by expert sensitivity.
TH808
An original open-back
made of solid black walnut
and aluminum materials.
Developed based on Fostex's top open-back headphones, the TH909. The housing is carved from high-grade solid black walnut wood, and is equipped with an in-house 1.5 Tesla Biodyna diaphragm driver unit. Based on an open design that integrates etched aluminum parts, it has been put together with precise acoustic tuning. Each one is carefully assembled at our domestic factory.
HOUSING CUP A presence created by carefully selected natural wood and aluminum.
The housing is carved out of solid black walnut, a high-quality wood, and has an original design with two layers of etched aluminum parts on the opening that change the impression depending on the lighting and angle. The careful fine-tuning of the aperture ratio and each internal part, coupled with the resonance of solid black walnut, reproduces a natural sound field that is comfortable and less tiring to listen to..

Japanese taste limited model carved from black walnut with the image of a beam of light
Crafted from high-grade solid black walnut wood in a design reminiscent of traditional Japanese woodwork, it is equipped with an in-house BioDyna diaphragm driver unit, and has an open-back housing that provides reliable acoustic performance. A limited edition model commemorating Fostex's 50th anniversary. Combining a "Japanese" taste with an excellent acoustic structure, each unit is carefully assembled at a domestic factory.
At the VGP 2024 Winter, one of Japan's largest audio-visual awards, the TH616 won the Gold Award in the Open-back Headphones (100,000 yen or more and less than 150,000 yen) category from the Lifestyle Subcommittee.
HOUSING CUP Utilizes the unique texture of solid wood to bring out clear acoustic performance.
It is carved from high-grade solid black walnut wood, inspired by the fantastic natural phenomenon of rays of light created by sunlight shining through gaps in trees. This shape not only reduces weight and ensures rigidity, but also avoids uniformity of the housing surface, suppressing the occurrence of mode vibrations and reducing unnecessary resonance. In addition, in order to eliminate the impact on sound caused by resonance of the housing openings, all openings have different areas to prevent resonance at specific frequencies.

TH909
Premium model with Japanese Cherry Birch housings finished by Japanese traditional "Urushi" lacquer and silver foil.
The highest model of Fostex open-back headphones. Aluminum photo-etched parts are integrated into the housing, which is made of high-grade Japanese Cherry Birch finished by Japanese traditional "Urushi" lacquer Bordeaux and silver foil inherited from the TH900. Equipped with our own 1.5 Tesla Biodyna diaphragm driver unit, each unit is carefully assembled one by one at our domestic factory with precise acoustic tuning.
HOUSING CUP "Urushi" lacquer painting is an elegant traditional craft that brings a sense of satisfaction along with high-quality sound.
The housing is made of high-quality Japanese Cherry Birch and finished with "Urushi" l lacquer craft originally developed by Sakamoto Otozo Shoten Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1900 and utilizes traditional Japanese crafts in today's industrial products. The lacquer used is black lacquer as the base and adhesive lacquer for pasting the foil. In order to express a sophisticated sense of depth, various types of colored silver foil smoked with sulfur are pasted to resemble a picture. The opening of the housing features a double-walled aluminum photo-etched part, an original design that changes its impression depending on the lighting and angle. The aperture ratio and internal parts have been fine-tuned numerous times to reproduce a natural sound field that is comfortable and fatigue-free to listen to.
